what foods speed up your metabolism?

Let's talk a minute about what to eat. I've been discussing eating your vegetables raw, but what kind of vegetables should you eat?

To kick your metabolism into high gear, most any sort of vegetables (as part of your balanced diet) will work. But if you REALLY want to start losing some weight, we should start to consider calories.

For ease of understanding, let's think of a calorie as energy.

You eat something - it could be a carrot or it could be a cube of sugar - and it provides calories. If your body needs the energy, you burn off the calories. If you don't need the energy, the body MUST do SOMETHING with it, so it gets stored as fat.

We can't cut back too much on calories since that would slow our metabolism. So, we need to boost our calorie usage. In other words, we need to find foods that speed up our metabolism but still don't provide enough energy. That's when we will see our fat beginning to disappear.

What if we could find a way to keep our metabolism chugging away - at full speed - and still not have enough energy? Then, our body will get the energy it needs from fat. (And we get skinny.)

Enter negative calorie foods.

Negative calorie foods are like an edible version of a jog around the park. You are still getting all the nutrients you need, your metabolism is still working at full speed and yet you still need extra energy - which your body provides by burning fat calories.

For foods that speed up your metabolism, it doesn't get any better than that!

What is meant by negative calorie foods? Glad you asked.

Anything you eat has calories, but at the same time, your body has to burn off a certain number of calories in order to digest food.

So, a negative calorie food is one which provides X number of calories, but burns XX number in being digested. In theory, you could eat non-stop all day long and still lose weight!

For example a 100 gram piece of broccoli has about 25 calories. But, it takes 80 calories to digest! You LOSE 55 calories every time you eat a piece of broccoli.

Good stuff, eh?

Here are a few vegetables that are negative calorie foods...

Asparagus, Beet Root,Chicory, Hot Chili,  Garden cress, Radish, Spinach, Turnip, Zucchini Garlic, Green Beans, Lettuce, Onion,  Broccoli, Cabbage, Carrot, Cauliflower, Celery, Cucumber.

There are quite a few more.

Now, I want you to take a minute to check out a terrific ebook. It lists the various negative calorie foods and gives a bunch of negative calorie recipes. It isn't physically or scientifically possible NOT to lose weight if you are eating a negative calorie diet.

Anyone (you?) who is serious about losing weight and keeping it off (in a safe and healthy manner) needs both a copy of that book Boosting Metabolism - Everything You Need to Know!"
