I am excited to write upon this weight loss thing today because I myself made little changes in daily life and reduced a lot of weight. For reducing weight many factors matters if I say eating habits, your daily schedule, sleeping pattern and many more. 


Eating your meals on time doesn't mean you are healthy, eating the right food with right amount of quantity makes you healthy and fit. Some little changes in your daily lifestyle can make a huge difference such as stop eating white salt always prefer rock salt, stop using sugar better have jaggery for sweetness.


Wondering what the best diet plan to lose weight is? Dieting is a major undertaking, whether you eat meat or not. There’s that now infamous statistic floating around that 95 percent of all dieters fail to keep their weight off long term. It’s been around for years and years at this point, and no one seems to link to the direct study this came from. Maybe because it’s from a 1959 study that only studied 100 people, according to the New York Times. Here’s the 5 best diet plans to lose weight.

The more I research and review nutrition and diet plans for this website, the more I like the Sonoma Diet!   I’ve come to realize that each of the food groups has an important function whether it’s a protein or carbohydrate!  We need the nutrients for health and energy so cutting out one entire category of food may help lose in the short term, however, it’s not teaching us how to alter our lifestyle to live healthily and keep the weight off.


That said, this diet is a lifestyle change rather than a “diet.”  You will lose weight but in a healthy manner while getting all the nutrition that your body needs to function on a higher level.  This plan is easy to follow and can be enjoyed by all members of a family rather than it just being a “diet plan” for you to eat differently than the rest of the family.  Also, it is simple and quick for people with busy lives. You do have to plan and cook but you don’t have to completely cut yourself off from the real world of food!


There are three “waves” of the Sonoma Diet. The first ten days of the diet will be Wave 1. During those ten days, you’ll naturally recalibrate your body and turn around bad eating habits.  You’ll notice loss almost immediately! The main part of the diet is Wave 2.   You will stay on Wave 2 until you’ve reached your goal.   Wave 3 is the maintenance part of the diet where you can begin to add in occasional “bad” indulgences. The nice thing about it is that there are plenty of recipes for the foods you crave like breads, cheese, and wine so that you never will really feel like you’ve completely cut out eating for enjoyment.


Part of what makes this diet so simple is that you don’t have to measure out your foods or calculate the weight. You will use certain plate sizes for certain meals and fill them with percentages of types of food..protein, veggies, and whole grains.  It’s that easy!


The online plan costs around $6 a week. There are plenty of tools for you to use including recipes, meal planners, weight-tracker and a food diary.   For a few dollars extra, you can also purchase a plan where you have access to your own nutritionist. You can email questions back and forth to this person about any health concerns or problems you might have.

My only real criticism of the online plan is that I feel that their online food diary is rather disappointing. It doesn’t give you any nutritional information about the food you’re eating. I suppose that if you’re properly following the guidelines, you know that you’re eating the right foods, but personally, I like the additional assistance of seeing that I ate enough Vitamin A or calcium on a certain day.   If that’s important to you, for about $9 a month, you could add this food and exercise tracker from My Food Diary.

Or, if you want to be REALLY precise (which is what I’m currently doing) you could purchase the BodyMedia FIT armband. BodyMedia FIT tracks the calories burned from all your activities and monitors the quality of your sleep. It has an online food diary and it’s really a great motivator to get your body moving!


Sonoma Diet; See Results in 10 Days! All in all, in my opinion the Sonoma Diet is a winner!  Since I started testing out The Sonoma Diet, I can already tell the difference changing in my food tastes and choices.   It gets a great rating from The Weight Loss Network!

The Suzanne Somers program looks like it has quite a lot of merit.   For many people, this program could be very helpful. In my case, it wouldn’t work as it would for other people, but, well. as you may have noticed, I have issues. I’m not patient enough to get rid of all my cosmetics, cleaners, etc for the detox plan. Also, I take issue with a plan that also wants to sell me things like a colon cleanse.   That’s the point of this site anyway–find the plan that works for you!  


The theories behind her program are these: 


#First, detoxify your body. Learn how to identify and avoid toxins in the foods you eat, the chemicals in your daily cosmetic products and in your household. This phase is 30 days. She recommends changing everything to organic and natural including cosmetics, household cleaners, etc. There’s also a recommendation to purchase a colon cleanse. I’m skeptical about that.


#Secondly, she helps you to identify hormonal issues that may need correction.

After identifying these problems and 30 days of detox, comes the part that you need to learn anyway .healthy diet and exercise! The meal plans and recipes look like they are tasty, healthy and manageable without being too difficult to prepare or requiring a zillion different ingredients.

As promised, I purchased a week’s worth of food from the weight-loss food delivery service, Bistro MD so that I could review it.   The first thing that you do is fill out a questionnaire about your food preferences.  I was able to tell them that I hate fish and to rest assured that I would not have any unpleasant surprises when the food arrived. You have options of seven days of meals, seven days of meals plus snacks, or just five.

The food arrived the next day frozen and packed in dry ice. When I opened it, I couldn’t believe how much food there was!! Unfortunately, I forgot to tell them that I have a soy allergy so a lot of the snacks had soy.  I called Bistro MD about it and the customer service was absolutely terrific–helpful and took.

care of the issue for the future. The snacks that weren’t composed of soy were pretty good and took care of some of my cravings.


The frozen meals were interesting and filling.   There is a lot more food in them than in other frozen meals like Weight Watchers’ Smart Ones. I did not feel at all deprived. I took a photo of my first meal.  It was a breakfast of spinach ricotta crepes with sweet potato” home fries” and a veggie patty that tasted just like sausage. Other meals included a Southwestern wrap lunch and dinner of jerk chicken with mango salsa. Some of the meals were more appealing to me than others, but on the whole the food is good and it’s filling.


After my five days on this diet, I had lost 1 1/2 pounds which is healthy weight loss! I really feel that this plan is a very good choice for people who are on the go and who want to have healthy pre-prepared meals!
